Sour cream
Apparently sour cream doesn't exist in Uruguay anymore. We're making chicken paprika tonight so we went to the big Tienda Inglesa to buy the ingredients. No problem with the chicken or paprika or any of the dumpling ingredients, but we couldn't find the sour cream. The clerk at the grocery told us they used to make it, but apparently there wasn't a market for it. He suggested making our own with heavy cream and yogurt. We'll see how that works.
